Alison by Libby M.

She had only been about eight

Was followed by an unknown fate

We’d liked to play and have some fun

April first two thousand and one.

When it ended, I was in shock

My face turned white as chalk

Killed by her mother’s oldest son

April first two thousand and one.

I didn’t know if it was a joke

My sound was reduced to a choke

And her life had barely begun

April first two thousand and one.

Libby, I really enjoyed your poem. I thought this was really deep and sad that this happened to your friend. I really liked the way you made everything come together. I also thought that the line you chose to repeat helped get the point across. You're a great poet. Nice job :]

I wasn't surprised when your poem was amazing. You have a fantastic way with words. This poem is really touching because this was something in your life that you really had to deal with. I believe that the speaker was you, and you were just looking back at a sad time in your life. The theme is very sad, and it speaks to always rememebr your friends. This poem was amazing & i'll defintily check out your blog!

I never thought, and i doubt you would've never thought, that a close person would go like that libby. Still a great poem though, despite the depressed tone of it. I really liek the refrains in it, the April 1st 2001, that was a really good quality of it. I liked how powerful the theme is, not taking life for granted. Very stong poem you've written Libby.

Your poem was so sad. I could tell you really thought about this and put in alot of effort. I knew you were the voice, talking about your frind. I agree with lindsey, the line you repeated really helped get the message clear. I'm running out of time to respond! Great job!!!!!!!
