Things Aren’t What They Appear to Be by Kaitlyn B

I hide many things under my smile,

Sometimes as an act of guile.

Discontentment covered by glee.

Things aren’t what they appear to be.

I feel my heart is torn,

And all I want to do is mourn.

Inside, my emotions drive me crazy.

Things aren’t what they appear to be.

These days, there’s less truth than aberration.

Take all of this into consideration.

Emotions can be covered easily.

Things aren’t what they appear to be.

heyy kaitlyn,
great poem. i really liked it. I think the intended audience is everyone. The mood is kind of sad. I think the underlining meaning of the poem is that nothing it was it seems. People hind there emotions for different reasons. That also goes for the theme. I thought it was really well written, and the meaning was very clear.

Kaitlyn,
hey! i loved your poem, i thought it was one of the best ones i heard from our class.
i think the underlying meaning of your poem is things in this world arent wnat they appear to be. Like a lot of things are fake and you should believe everything you hear.
The audience ittended for your poem was everyone. THey mood of your poem was sad. It souds like the speaker of the poem was confused about why everytihng in this world has to be fake.
again,I loved you poem!

The speaker of this poem isa girl or woman who hides. The intended audience of this poem is anyone. The the mood in this poem is sort of sad. the theme in this poem is that people sometimes hide behind the obvious. I liked this poem because it sounded good and liked the vocabulary used.

Kaitlyn! You picked my favorite poem of yours :D
I really liked this one so much because it was so deep. Your words were about covering up how you really feel. The mood was sort of sad. I think the underlying meaning (as you repeat through it) is that things aren't what they appear to be.
I reeeeally liked your poem. ^-^
