i could imagine the piture you were describing in the poem. i like the last line, how you chose the word painting. it was very creative and a good word choice.

i really like this poem. i think of a sunset after i read this as "painting the sky". the poem was very captivating and i got a lovely picture in my mind. i feel very serene after reading this picture. no, it doesn't remind me of anything.

i liked your poem a lot. you used great imagry when yuou said that the birds painted the sky. you also used great allusions. and after reading this i feel like spring but then i look outside and see the winter rainy hail and so no... i thought it was really unique and different from all your other works that i have read so far.

I really enjoyed this poem, Lizzie. I also liked the picture that went along with it. After I read the poem, I thought about McDonalds and how seagulls used to fly around and eat french fries. But I don't remember if they still do that. Like others have said, you used good, no, GREAT imagery when writing this poem and it's obvious you had a picture in your mind while writing it and you did an excellent job capturing it with words. After I read this poem, I feel... how do I say this, refreshed? It's not a sad poem at all. It's nice for the season. And since we've been having such cruddy weather, it's something nice to look forward to. Great job!

When reading this poem allowed me to imagine a vivid picture of a flock of birds coming back home in the spring after a harsh winter. I liked how you used the word painted to describe the birds flying; it creatively retold the event. The word choice you used made such a simple type of poem extrordinary.
